Filmmaker and businessman Vernon Mortensen has led an amazing life. The son of Christian Missionaries, he was born in Bangkok, Thailand and went on to serve as a US Navy SWCC (pronounced "swick") commando in the Navy's elite Special Boat Teams where he deployed with platoons from SEAL Teams 1, 3 and 5 to hot-spots around the world. Vernon is one of the owners of Rogue Arts; an LA based independent movie production and distribution company. Rouge Arts has produced 8 feature films and distributed well over 100 feature films to theaters, television, pay-per-view, VOD, cable TV, and DVD retailers around the world. Rogue Arts' movies feature Academy Award , Golden Globe and Emmy winners and movie stars like John Malkovich, Benicio Del Toro, Dennis Hopper, Ben Kingsley, Johnny Depp, Roy Scheider, Martin Sheen, Peter Faulk, Michael Madsen, Jason Patric, DB Sweeney, Mercedes Ruehl and Eric Roberts. Our movies have been featured in all major film festivals and markets around the world including Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, and Cannes and have been watched by millions of people around the globe. Vernon has a Master's degree in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California where he studied under Syd Field, an MBA from United States International University and a BFA in Film from the Art Center College of Design.
